Where, oh where, do I find this movie?!

BANLIEUE 13

The two main guys in the trailer are traceurs, practioners of Parkour.  That's in real life, not as part of the movie plot.  So, some of the stunts here were, well, not done with wires.

The film is far more entertaining than it has any right to be. On the face of it, it's a French re-interpretation of Escape from New York, and there are wholly fromagy moments, but damn if it wasn't the most fun I had at last year's film festival. (Seeing it in the Neptune with a fully committed and appreciative audience didn't hurt, either.)

The only reason I can imagine it hasn't come over here yet is that distributors think it's audience, action fans, won't read subtitles. They're probably right.

Very cool, viloent, quite the Ong Bak feel to it. I definately watch it with you if you find it or are able to rent it and are keen on the company.
