No less than the scheming little tree-rats deserve!
We used to have a garden that backed onto some woods, so we saw plenty of wildlife - birds, bunnies, and yes, squirrels. The squirrels were very good at stealing seed from the birdfeeder, so I ended up hanging it from the middle of the washing line.
The squirrels just shimmied along the line to it.
Except that this was too much effort for one, who in a terrifying display of reasoning and foresight tried to chew through the line to bring the feeder down to earth. He nearly bloody succeeded, too.
Also, you know that squirrel is going for another ride as soon as possible and trying to get all his friends to join him. "Whoa, man, you have no idea what a great trip I just had!"
I agree with majorclanger. They deserve it. They made a regular business of scarfing all the seed in the bird feeder until we got Mr. Taz, who has his own version of 'twirl-a-squirrel' (Just as effective, but a bit messy).
