Mister Monday - Garth Nix

This is the first book in a children's series called The Keys to the Kingdom.  I asked for this book for Xmas in large part because I'd read and really enjoyed Nix's Sabriel series.  That series was aimed at the teen market (main character is 18 in the first book and I think the other in the next two books is 16).  This new series is pretty clearly aimed at a younger audience, based on the level of the writing and few different facets of the story.  Still, Nix handles character very well and the actions of the characters never feel false to me, which is nice break from the last book I read. :-)
