And now...
Jul. 23rd, 2002 07:02 amBooks:
- A bunch of Elvis Cole novels by Robert Crais. What can I say, I had an urge. I think I've plowed through 3 or 4 since about Thursday of last week.
- Adulthood Rites by Octavia Butler. I picked this up at a little used bookstore just up the street from here on the weekend. Sadly, I think it's going to be rather too much like Wild Seed and not enough like Clay's Ark. I'm starting to wonder if Clay's Ark was a sport and not typical of the material Butler produces, which would be too bad.
Music:
mouseman and I hammered through parts of Scarlet Cape again. Better this time, but he forgot to bring his part, so we could only really work on the parts he could remember. :-) We swapped some notes about piano and music in general. I showed him what lilypondlooks like and what the sheet music for The Sun Comes Up looks like. Also played an old piece from high school for him, Last Waltz, probably one of the first reasonably well written pieces I did while in high school (written just before I graduated). He suggested putting that one intolilypondnext. Hmmm...
Movies:
- Men in Black II. Not a bad movie and about what I expected. W said that this was exactly why he was unimpressed. He felt the first one was unexpected in a number of ways and this one was a let down. I feel like this one made use of the same general ideas and, since it was originally based on a comic book, may have continued to be true to its source material. It was fun and that's acceptable for me.
Games:
- Nothing new here. In a slump with Sam. Downloaded a new mod for Max Payne that turns it into a first-person shooter (not bad!). Downloaded the Action Half-Life mod and tried it out last night, but I have no frigging idea what I'm supposed to be doing besides shooting people in that one. Very fast paced, though.
TV:
- Yawn

Date: 2002-08-08 06:24 am (UTC)Right now, I'm pretty much out of it; an auto accident a few years back took an inch or so off my height and left my right hand/wrist a bit ... well, substandard. I still attempt some katas from time to time, and am thinking of trying to work my way back up, by way of Tai Chi.
You?
